Owl / Bird Slipper Socks Pattern FREE PATTERN - Available on Ravelry.
Cute owl and bird patterns appear to be all the rage in the crochet world. Not only do they look awesome, but they're fairly easy to crochet and any number of colour options look attractive together. I already tried my hand at owls earlier this year by writing an owl key ring / applique pattern, which was a lot of fun to crack. I've since seen someone else's owl slippers online that I was dying to make, but unfortunately the pattern was written in Russian. Surprisingly, my non-existent Russian language skills were of no use to me when trying to read the pattern, and Google translate wasn't that helpful either. I'm not even really sure what weight of wool or hook size were used... Plus this pattern, as for many other similar ones on the 'net, was for kid-sized slippers, and I wanted to do them for adults! Therefore, based purely off the photo I saw, I decided to write a pattern to replicate those slippers as adult ones in both DK/light worsted yarn (4mm hook) and aran/worsted weight yarn (5mm hook) weights. I do not take credit for the inspiration of these slippers, but the pattern is all mine and written from scratch. The pattern would be good for someone who is used to the crochet basics, but is looking to stretch themselves a bit to make something more than scarves and Granny squares. I hope you enjoy making these slippers if you give them a go - I'd love to get your feedback on the pattern or see pictures of what you made on my Facebook page! I hang out in the Repeat Crafter Me Facebook group too btw. :) You cannot sell the pattern itself or claim it as your own, but you may of course sell items you make from the pattern(s). An author credit on items you sell is much appreciated. Currently adult size patterns available below. I intend to write it also for babies/toddlers/children soon.
