Inspired mainly by Repeat Crafter Me's lovely daisy Afghan pattern, I decided to start a 'Memory Blanket' for my son. The idea being that I would do many grit stitch squares in bright colours and then stitch them all together and boarder it with white. Once complete, individual appliques or other memorabilia (future swimming badges, patches, suitable holiday mementos) could be sewn on to individual squares to create a living memory of events in our lives for us to remember.
Since the balance of life, working and being a Mum, plus all the other projects I seem to start that get in the way, means that progress on the main blanket itself is slower than I'd have liked, I've started making appliques as I go along. The first one is this free-form ghost, made for Halloween 2015 as he has a flashing ghost that we'll have on tonight when the Trick or Treaters come round. ;) Started blanket initially on 11/04/2015.
